We have now completed the Great Loop (or crossed our wake) as we have finished the final leg (the Illinois River from Chicago to Grafton, IL) of our Great Adventure. We have cruised Lake Michigan, Canada - Georgian Bay & the North Channel and Lake Champlain and we have enjoyed New York City. We have cruised up the Hudson River, Chesapeake Bay and down the Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean New Jersey Coastline. Michele and I have completed one year of cruising the America’s Great Loop on our Trawler the “Marc’s Ark”. We have traveled down the Mississippi, up the Ohio, up and down the Cumberland and the Tennessee Rivers, down the Ten-Tom Waterway to Mobile, Alabama, around the Florida Keys, and up the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway enjoying Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina. Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Vermont and now Canada. We have seen alligators, wild horses, dolphins, manatee, sting rays, schools of jelly fish, loons and much more; but the best part of our trip has been the great people we have met at every port. We have learned that Southern hospitality is alive and well. Bluffs, marshes, back waters, savannas, sand dunes, star filled nights and full moons make our daily travel delightful; but it is the wonderful people that we have to say goodbye to daily that makes our trip truly a “bucket list” adventure.
Hi to all of our friends. The hardest part of our adventure was being away from family and friends – we love “ya'al”. You are invited to review our great adventure at www.marcsark.com.
